Engine Oil

Ashley was extremely helpful, friendly and professional. I had given up on Hyundai service from another dealership but wanted to ensure my 80 000 km check up passed the Hyundai warranty expectations so tried out River City. I own a 2024 Hyundai Tuscon,which is solely driven by me.It currently has 19,000 ks.The service department always recommends an exorbitant service package whenever I go in for an oil change.I hate dealing with the staff there.I wish to change my vehicle for a newer model but I refuse to deal with the staff.They are usually kind to you when they know you are in the market to purchase but they don't seem to care once they get your business. Hope I can find another dealership that will appreciate my business. I recently had an oil change at the dealership on Manning Drive.I was waiting for over an hour and went to ask one of the staff(sorry I didn't get her name) how much longer it would take to complete because I had to be at another appointment. She turned up her nose and said to me" I HAVE NO IDEA" in a very rude manner. These people need to have some customer's service etiquette.

I’m very disappointed with my recent experience. I called ahead and was told that a software update for my vehicle could be completed. Based on that information, I brought my car in expecting a straightforward appointment. After waiting nearly four hours at the dealership, I received no updates on the status of my vehicle unless I went and asked myself. There was little to no communication during the entire wait. I was eventually told the update could not be done and was advised to look into aftermarket options instead. I was also informed that the update file alone would cost nearly $200. When I got home, I went online, found the official Hyundai update file within minutes, and successfully installed it myself. I now have Apple CarPlay working perfectly. The issue isn’t just the price, it is the misinformation, the lack of communication, and the amount of time wasted. I would have appreciated accurate information and better service. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be returning for future service.

This place is everything people fear about car dealerships: misleading tactics and bullying behaviour toward women. It was the worst experience we've ever had with any dealership. They tried to gaslight us about the fact that Hyundais of a certain era have oil consumption problems that cause the engine to fail. The service manager, Jon, tried to bully us, and the service clerk named Francine seemed to be intentionally misleading, and then dismissive and callous when that deception was called out. This experience has caused us to believe the staff at this dealership are not good people to do business with. Consumers can report deceptive dealership practices to AMVIC. This is the Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council. They take complaints, do investigations and can get some kind of monetary resolution depending on the situation.
