2019 Hyundai Santa Fe News

April 2nd, 2018 by

The 2019 Santa Fe model will hit Canadian markets later this year in both five- and seven-seat variations. The suffixes used for 2018 Santa Fe models, Sport and XL, will be dropped for 2019. Hyundai will still sell the 2018 Hyundai XL even when the 2019 models hit, though. This gives drivers a way to get the three rows they want with either a diesel (2019 Sante Fe with seven seats) or petrol engine (2018 Santa Fe XL). Get more insight on what’s to expect from the 2019 Santa Fe below, and contact River City Hyundai with any questions today.

2019 Hyundai Santa Fe vs. 2018 Santa Fe Sport

The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe five-seater was revealed back in February and officially unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show. In terms of exterior dimensions, the 2019 Santa Fe has:

  • a more aggressive grille
  • 70 added mm in overall length
  • 10 mm wider in width
  • a larger wheelbase

The 2019 Santa Fe also has a new eight-speed transmission to complement its 2.4-litre inline four-cylinder GDI engine with an estimated 185 hp, or a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with an estimated 232 hp. There is no diesel option for the two-row Santa Fe in the 2019 model year.

In a push to make shine the Santa Fe in a more family-friendly light, Hyundai is debuting a rear-seat occupant alert to prevent child or pet overheating when left in a vehicle. Read more to learn more.

2019 Hyundai Santa Fe vs. 2018 Santa Fe XL

The bigger 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe, which fits seven passengers, mainly flaunts its new diesel engine. This engine will be a 2.2-litre turbocharged unit, producing an estimated 200 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque. It is also rumoured to get better fuel economy and towing capacity. As mentioned above, the 2018 Santa Fe XL will still be sold alongside the its successor to give Sherwood Park consumers a seven-seat petrol-powered engine option.

2019 Santa Fe Technology

Higher trims of the 2019 Santa Fe will get:

  • AVN 5.0 navigation system
  • Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • Optional Qi wireless charging pad for compatible devices

In addition, higher trims of the new Santa Fe will offer rear-seat occupant alert, which will give Cold Lake parents more peace of mind. According to Hyundai, rear-seat occupant alert “detects movement in the rear seats. [A]fter the driver leaves the vehicle it will honk the horn, flash the lights and send a Blue Link alert to the driver’s smartphone via Hyundai’s Blue Link connected car system.”

2019 Hyundai Release Date
